Summary Description

We are looking for a Director of Accommodations passionate about hospitality and wishing to join our team. Reporting to the Director of Operations, the incumbent is primarily responsible for the management and operations of the front desk, concierge, valets, security, all while ensuring close collaboration with the housekeeping and maintenance departments to ensure an exceptional guest experience and the smooth running of operations.

Tasks and Responsibilities

  • Support, supervise, and guide teams related to operations in all guest interaction processes.
  • Ensure the management and monitoring of daily operations of the accommodations department and ensure their proper functioning in accordance with hotel standards.
  • Supervise managers, supervisors and members of the accommodations teams to ensure compliance with hotel procedures, policies and service standards.
  • Ensure that teams have the tools, resources and information necessary to effectively perform their functions.
  • Ensure guest satisfaction and handle situations requiring management intervention, including complaint management and special requests.
  • Ensure follow-up on guest requests and ensure they are handled within established timeframes.
  • Supervise the quality of service provided at all stages of the stay, from arrival to departure, and ensure that the guest experience meets established standards.
  • Ensure effective communication and excellent collaboration between accommodations and other hotel departments, particularly food and beverage, housekeeping, maintenance and sales.
  • Identify opportunities for operational improvement and implement initiatives aimed at optimizing efficiency, service quality and guest satisfaction.
  • Ensure compliance with quality standards, policies, procedures and hotel standards by all teams.
  • Manage disciplinary situations, perform necessary follow-ups and collaborate with human resources.
  • Support hotel management in various projects, initiatives and mandates related to accommodations operations.

Skills and Requirements

  • Diploma of collegial or university studies in hotel management, or any other equivalent training.
  • Excellent organizational skills, priority management and ability to provide outstanding customer service.
  • Excellent ability to establish and maintain good business relationships with other departments and external stakeholders.
  • Autonomy, proactivity, judgment and ability to work under pressure.
  • Strong leadership skills, team management and mobilization.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of experience in hospitality, including at least three (3) years in management.
  • Bilingual (French and English, requirement due to an international clientele).
  • Availability during day, evening and weekend shifts.
  • Experience in a unionized environment, an asset.
  • Experience with Marriott chain hotels, an asset.
